My most recent commission was a very large graphic design project. Although I specialise in children's narratives, I love a good challenge, and this certainly was!

My client required a marketing pack, including a pack, booklet and flyer which depicted their new property management business, Easton Bevins. I wanted the imagery to be fresh and eye-catching, and to stand out from other management packs but to keep professional and inline with the business. Initially, I focused on colour and design to bring the material to people's attention, but after sending my proposal to the client, I decided to bring my illustration style into the project to give it a unique twist.

 

Most business packs of this type are solidly based on great graphic design, which was obviously the primary focus here, however, after experimenting with a few different page layouts and designs, I still didn't like the end product. That's when I began to play with mixing drawing and photography.

 

I decided to bring in the wonderful Jamie Smart from AutumnFox_Designs to assist with his beautiful Bristol photography. His excellent digital skills also helped me execute some of the final imagery too, thanks Jim!

The client was really happy with the final product and they look great in printed form. It really was an eye-opening project as I've proved to myself that I can branch out in other areas of design, and enjoy it!
