'Are Dinosaurs Afraid of Rabbits?' is a children's book written by Suzi Heal. As well as being entertaining and wonderful to read, the book also explores the theme of learning disabilities, in particular dyslexia. As someone who has struggled with dyslexia and had not received any real help until University, this was a theme close to my heart and I jumped at the chance to illustrate this great story.

I loved working on this project, bringing the characters and settings to life and building storyboards which enhanced the story and helped it to flow naturally. I also worked with Suzi on how the text was broken up through each page, with the dyslexia theme in mind, using particular dyslexic friendly font and paragraph sizes that worked with the images on the page.

I combined traditional and digital media in this project, experimenting with my favourite traditional watercolours and enhancing them digitally to add text, optomise the colour and contrast and make sure every image was as crisp as can be.
